Carrying the 2026 Season

Camp is paid for and the shoes are being handled separately. This is everything else it takes to run a cross country season for twenty Carson City-Crystal athletes, high school and middle school, from August to November.

WHAT YOUR GIFT PAYS FOR

Snacks and drinks at meets — $30 a meet, fourteen meets
Not dinners out. Fruit, bars, water and something warm at the finish, for a team that is often racing at eight in the morning two hours from home.

Dinner the night before the state meet — about fifteen people
The athletes who qualify, the teammates who travel to support them, and their families. It is the night the season is worth it.

The 2027 senior scholarship — $1,000
Five hundred dollars each to one graduating boy and one graduating girl, awarded next spring. Set aside now so it is there when it is needed. We intend this to grow.

Running The Distance Project — $1,000 a year
Website hosting, payment processing fees, insurance, and the cost of being a nonprofit. Naming it rather than burying it: every organisation has these costs, and the ones that pretend otherwise are taking it out of something else.

IF WE RAISE MORE THAN WE NEED

The balance stays with the program and goes to the next runners who need help — equipment, entry fees, or a place at camp next summer. It does not go anywhere else.

Every mile starts with an opportunity. Thank you for giving our runners theirs.
