Help Send CCC Cross Country Athletes to Higgins Lake Team Camp
The Distance Project is raising funds to help Carson City-Crystal Cross Country athletes attend the 2026 Higgins Lake XC Team Camp.
Team camp gives our athletes an opportunity to grow physically, mentally, and as a team before the cross country season begins. Each day includes challenging runs, team-building activities, and instructional sessions led by coaches. Athletes also train, compete, and build friendships with runners from other schools in our league.
The estimated cost is $140 per athlete, which covers:
Food during camp
Campsite expenses
Team activities
Camp programming and training opportunities
Unfortunately, the school does not have enough funding available to cover camp costs for every athlete. Without additional support, some runners may not be able to attend.
A donation of $140 sponsors the estimated cost of one athlete, but every contribution helps. Donations can reduce what families are required to pay and help make camp accessible to more CCC runners.
This experience is about more than mileage. It helps athletes develop discipline, confidence, leadership, teamwork, and stronger relationships with their teammates and coaches. The lessons and memories created at camp can have an impact throughout the entire season and beyond.
Please help us give every CCC Cross Country athlete the opportunity to train, learn, compete, and grow at the 2026 Higgins Lake XC Team Camp.
Camp starts Aug 9 and ends Aug 16. We would love to reach our goal before Aug 9.
Every mile starts with an opportunity. Thank you for supporting our athletes.
Checks can be mailed to our office. Please email us if you would like to donate via check or cash at donate@thedistanceproject.org
This one is finished, and it worked.
It closed on 4 August 2026 having raised $1,701.00 of a $1,700 goal. Thank you to everyone who gave.
You can still give — it will go to wherever the need is greatest rather than to this campaign. Give to the general fund.

FOR BUSINESSES
No business has put their name to this season yet.
Sponsorship here buys a specific thing, not a logo slot — a pair of spikes, a seat on the bus, a week at camp. We tell you exactly what yours paid for, and your name sits on the campaign it funded.
